Growing up on a small island in the Waddensea off the west coast of Denmark, I have always been close to nature. I grew up going on regular adventures alone into the nearby forests since before I can even remember (At least according to my grandma). Some of my earliest memories involve kayaking in the ocean that surrounded me for my entire childhood. And as if that wasn’t enough I’ve been cross country skiing for as long as I’ve been able to walk, thanks to my grandparents bringing me to their remote cabin in Norway every winter.
Despite all of this, it wasn’t until my early teens that my passion for outdoor adventures truly began. It started as a much needed outlet during the dreaded year of 2020, when I – like the rest of the world – was in lockdown.
From a tumultuous first two day solo walk along Hærvejen (The Army Road) close to my home, in terrible gray and wet danish winter conditions, it quickly developed to a life defining love of adventure. For years I would take every possible chance during school breaks to go on hiking and XC-skiing trips all around Norway and Sweden.
As soon as I finished school (Gymnasium) in 2024 at 18, I traveled to Switzerland to hike without much of a plan. The Alps turned out to be a slightly bigger challenge than I was ready to take on long-term at the time, however, following a quick change in plans, I found my first longer hiking adventure on the Via Transilvanica in Romania.
My next big adventure began on may 12th at Lindesnes in Norway. For five months I walked solo across the entire country of Norway until I reached Nordkapp at the top of the continent. The approximately 2500 kilometre journey with all its ups and downs only served to make me fall even deeper in love with the expedition life, and my passion and excitement for upcoming adventures has only grown since.
In preparation for an upcoming multi-month solo XC-ski expedition through Sweden, I’ve spent the past two winters living and working in Norway, skiing as much as possible. Beginning in January of 2027 I will undertake my most demanding journey yet. I can’t wait.
